Latvijas Transatlantiskā organizācija un ASV vēstniecība Latvijā  aicina aktīvus jauniešus uz sarunu ar ASV senatoriem par transatlantisko sadarbību un drošību. Kad? Trešdiena, 20. aprīlis, plkst. 11:45-12:30. Kur? ASV vēstniecības sabiedrisko attiecību departaments, Smilušu iela 7, Rīga. Kas? John Kyl, Ron Johnson, Jeff Sessions & Mike Carpo. Darba valoda: angļu valoda

Senator Jon Kyl

Jon Kyl was elected to the U.S. Senate from Arizona in 1994 and re-elected in 2000, after having served four terms in the U.S. House of Representatives. He serves on the Senate’s Finance Committee, where he chairs the Subcommittee on Taxation and IRS Oversight, and on the Judiciary Committee, where he chairs the Subcommittee on Terrorism, Technology and Homeland Security. As chairman of the Senate Republican Policy Committee, he is one of six members of the Senate Republican Leadership.

Senator Mike Carpo

Mike Carpo serves as the fifth-ranking Republican on the Senate Finance Committee, giving Idaho an added voice in legislation that impacts their daily lives. This committee has a strong influence on what tax structure our country uses, how to execute certain health and human services programs and implementation of reciprocal trade agreements. The committee has jurisdiction over an extensive range of important policy, including tax, health care, trade and customs and mandatory spending programs, including Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. He serves on three Finance subcommittees: Ranking Member on the newly-created Subcommittee on Fiscal Responsibility and Economic Growth; member of the Subcommittee on Taxation and IRS Oversight; and member of the Subcommittee on International Trade, Customs and Global Competitiveness.
