Public discussion: The German Marshall Fund’s Transatlantic Trends Survey 2012 results

Latvian Transatlantic organisation (LATO) and the Konrad – Adenauer Stiftung cordially invites you to the public discussion with distinguished guest Dr. Constanze Stelzenmüeller, Senior Transatlantic Fellow with the German Marshall Fund of the United States in Berlin. Discussion will be held on Thursday, Febraury 28, 2013 at 18:00 at the University of Latvia Social Science faculty (1st auditorium).

Discussion’s language will be English.

It will be moderated by Dr. Žaneta Ozoliņa, Head of Department of Political Science at the University of Latvia, board member of Latvian Transatlantic organisation.

Transatlantic Trends is a comprehensive annual survey measuring views on foreign policy in the United States, Russia, Turkey, and 12 European countries: Bulgaria, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. The Transatlantic Trends 2012 survey explores how Americans and Europeans view the transatlantic relationship and a number of growing challenges facing the world. Of particular interest are the European and U.S. responses to the ongoing economic crisis, European thoughts on the American election, and views on major security issues like Afghanistan, NATO, Syria, and Iran. Transatlantic Trends also weighs in on the rise of Asia and the role of Russia in the global order. The survey is a project of the German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF) and the Compagnia di San Paolo, with additional support from the Funda??o Luso-Americana, Fundación BBVA, the Communitas Foundation, the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, and the Open Society Foundation.

Aim of the discussion is to raise awareness about current transatlantic challanges and discuss results of the survey.
