Get a valuable experience and behind-the-scenes look by volunteering at “The Rīga Conference 2017”!

The Latvian Transatlantic Organisation (LATO) is looking for young, energetic and talented people ready to support a high level international conference “The Riga Conference 2017”.

The Rīga Conference 2017 is one of the leading foreign and security policy forums in Northern Europe. It covers topics of transatlantic communication, defence and foreign policy. The conference will be held on September 29th and September 30th at the National Library of Latvia.

LATO is offering professional working environment in dynamic non-governmental organization with wide range of activities. LATO is “the place to be” for active and motivated students, mainly under-graduates/bachelor students who are looking for unique work experience. Besides the experience, all volunteers get to attend the conference for free, including the invitation-only parties and some of the side events (depending on the volunteer individual roles). LATO will provide briefing and training before the event, as well as food and refreshments during the conference. Volunteers also get a certificate and personal letters of recommendation will be offered upon request.

You are:

  • fluent in English

  • interested in transatlantic communications, defence and foreign policy

  • able to work responsibly under pressure and make decisions on your own

  • able to perform well in a multicultural environment

Following departments are open for positions:

  • Registration

  • Logistics

  • Media and external communication

  • Technical assistance

  • Hospitality desk

  • Session monitoring and crowd traffic control

Schedule and responsibilities:

  • 25.09.-29.09: Assistance needed for various tasks prior to the conference

  • 29.09.-30.09: The Rīga Conference 2017

Work during and prior to the conference will involve welcoming guests, assisting with organizing materials for the event, registration of onsite attendees, providing useful information to guests, tracking session participation, logistical support, media and other technical assistance.
