Latvian Transatlantic Organization, in cooperation with Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Baltic States and the Latvian Political Science Association, from 9th May to 20th June gathered young political leaders from all around Latvia in weekly online discussions on issues such as the future and economy of the European Union, democracy and values, security, public participation, and the ongoing developments of EU-NATO relations. As part of the programme, the youth was given the opportunity to explore the views and experience of Latvia’s leading politicians, practitioners and political scientists, as well as to gain insight into the practical application of the knowledge they learned. In the masterclasses, young people had the opportunity to discuss current issues with such personalities as politician Lolita Čigāne, Professor Žaneta Ozoliņa, political scientist and European Parliament deputy Ivars Ijabs, Executive Director of Latvian Electrical Energy and Energy Building Association Gunārs Valdmanis, Minister of Interior of the Republic of Latvia Sandis Ģirģens, Latvian Ministry of Defence Under Secretary of State – Policy Director Janis Karlsbergs, as well as the President of the Republic of Latvia Egils Levits.
