YATA Latvia has started a joint project with YATA Ukraine “We are here, you will be here”.
As the war continues in Ukraine, LATO’s youth organisation YATA Latvia is implementing the project “We are here, you will be here” to promote discussion on the integration of Ukraine in the Euro-Atlantic space.
The project is designed to integrate and help young people from Ukraine living in Latvia. Through a three-pillar integration process, it will touch upon the integration of young people in Latvia and what factors are important for young people looking directly at Ukraine’s integration into the EU and NATO. These topics will be discussed in three online workshops:
- Integration of young Ukrainians in Latvia;
- Ukraine’s integration into the EU and NATO;
- Involvement of Ukrainian civilians in the non-governmental sector and volunteering.
At the end of the project, active young people from Latvia and Ukraine will meet in the Latvian capital of youth – Līvāni to draft a resolution with insights and recommendations for national and local decision-makers, as well as Ukrainian governmental institutions.
The project is open to young people from Ukraine who have found refuge in Latvia and want to learn more about civic participation, security and defence policy, building bridges in the Euro-Atlantic space, and meet like-minded young people to build a better future together!
