Masterclasses for young Baltic political leaders

The 4th Annual Masterclasses for Young Political Leaders in the Baltic States, in partnership with the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Baltic States, took place from 26 to 28 April.

Opening remarks were made by LATO’s Toms Baumanis and Latvia’s Deputy Speaker, Zanda Kalniņa-Lukaševica. YATA Latvia kicked things off with a dynamic icebreaker, setting the stage for a weekend of collaboration.

 

Highlights included:

Māris Cepurītis and Oliver Morwinsky led a discussion on military security in the Baltic, moderated by Viesturs Romka.

Dmitri Teperik, Kaspars Druvaskalns, and Prof. Dalia Bankauskaite held expert panels on crisis management, which were steered by Sigita Struberga.

Insightful lectures on AI in politics by Iveta Kažoka, resilience by Vitālijs Rakstiņš, and navigating political communication by Rihards Bambals.

A unique UN AI Protocol simulation by the Latvian UN Youth Delegation capped off the sessions, followed by a vibrant discussion on youth political participation with Aleksandrs Mironovs, Elīna Smetanina, and Hanna-Stiina Tornius.
