Discussion ” Standing by Ukraine Against Russia’s aggression”

 

On 24 February 2023, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in cooperation with the Transatlantic Organisation of Latvia, organised a discussion ” Standing by Ukraine Against Russia’s Aggression”. The discussion focused on the indomitable willpower of the Ukrainian people to defend their freedom and their land, the support of allies to Ukraine in the fight against the Russian military offensive and holding Russia accountable for the war being waged in Ukraine and the crimes it has committed. The event was opened by the Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Gunda Reire, and the Ambassador of Ukraine to Latvia, Oleksandr Mishchenko. Looking ahead to 2022 and charting the way to Ukraine’s victory were Andris Spruds, Chairman of the European Affairs Committee of the Saeima, Inese Vaivare, Director of the Latvian Platform for Development Cooperation – LAPAS, and Katarina Platere, Director of the First Department of Bilateral Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Serhiy Haidai, Governor of Luhansk Region, shared his experience of Ukraine’s experience and tireless struggle against the aggressor Russia from a distance. The discussion was moderated by LATO Board Member Žaneta Ozoliņa.
