Presentation and discussion of resilience measurement of the Baltic State societies
On 12 December 2023, in cooperation with the State Chancellery, LATO presented research on societal resilience in the three Baltic States. This was the first time that a common analysis methodology was used. The main collaborators in this initiative from neighbouring countries were Dmitrij Teperiks from Estonia and Dalia Bankauskaitė from Vilnius University, whose involvement facilitated the production of comparative data and provided valuable insights into societal resilience in the Baltics as a whole.
The presentation was made possible by the fact that LATO, in cooperation with the State Chancellery, conducted an opinion poll in October-November 2023, which measured public resilience in the context of the Ukraine war, according to a methodology specifically designed by the Resswell Centre at Tel Aviv University. An identical methodology was used by colleagues in Lithuania and Estonia.
After the presentation of the indicators from all three countries, a discussion was held with Renārs Kairis from the Sustainability Department of the University of Latvia, Ingemārs Vekteris from the Latvian Broadcasting Association, Ivars Nakurts from the State Fire Service and Elīna Egle from the Latvian business community. The discussion was moderated by Ansis Bogustovs.
