Transatlantic Security Initiative II
On June 28, IRI and LATO held a round table discussion to discuss the security of the Baltic Sea region. Special attention was paid to Soft Security issues in Latvia, as well as to the agenda of strengthening NATO’s Eastern flank.
LATO Secretary General Sigita Struberga and Director of the Security and Strategic Research Center of the Latvian National Defense Academy Toms Rostoks also took part in the discussion.
Finally, drawing on their experiences at the study visits and workshops, the participants will co-author a white paper for publication. The white paper will be distributed and presented at appropriate venues in each of the countries represented in the program, and the participants will be afforded the opportunity to present their findings at notable security conferences.
